Akwa Ibom state university is a state owned university located in South South Nigeria in Akwa-Ibom state close to Calabar and Rivers state. The university was founded in 2010 to provide more admission opportunities primarily for indigenes of Akwa Ibom. Students learn how to use knowledge and wisdom to solve societal problems. The university has no religious affiliation and admits students irrespective of their backgrounds. It is very affordable in terms of tuition. Akwa Ibom has a large and diverse student population. The university offers various degrees across Science, Social Science, Education, arts, management and social science. Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) was conceived and funded by the Akwa Ibom State Government. Unity of people with a passion to constantly seek knowledge that addresses practical issues of development in Nigeria. The university opened its doors to its pioneer students in the 2010/2011 academic year.
