Autonomous University of Chile (UA) is located in Temuco, Araucanía, Chile. It is locally known as Universidad Autónoma de Chile. The university was established in 1989. It is accredited by Consejo Superior de Educación, Chile.Its founding objective was to provide access to higher education for young people from that region who, until then, had been forced to emigrate to other cities because the traditional system did not offer them access to disciplines of interest to them. Its birth in the region of La Araucanía left a lasting and distinctive imprint: the strong commitment to local and regional development , materialized in the provision of new academic alternatives in the regions where it is located.
