Bulawayo
Bulawayo Polytechnic is an academic institution established in 1927 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe; initially as a technical school. The current main campus on Park Road in Suburbs was built in 1942. The Division of Art & Design is based at a campus on George Silundika Street in the central business district. This campus also offers training for artisans in bricklaying, plumbing, carpentry, joinery, and wood machining. The polytechnic is sometimes called Bulawayo Polytechnic College instead of Bulawayo Polytechnic. Bulawayo Polytechnic has grown phenomenally, both in terms of student and staff population as well as in the range of disciplines on offer. It is the Second largest polytechnic in the City of Bulawayo. Student enrollment currently stands at 4000 which is underpinned by a staff compliment of 350. Since its establishment, the Polytechnic has produced over 1 million graduates.
