Central Wyoming College has been accredited since March 1976 by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which is a regional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit degree granting colleges and universities. Regional accreditation validates the quality of an institution as a whole and evaluates multiple aspects of an institution ranging from its academic offerings, governance and administration, mission, finances, and resources. In addition to its main campus, the college provides online classes and has outreach centers in Jackson, Lander, Dubois, and the Wind River Indian Reservation. Central Wyoming College is best known for its associate degree nursing program.
