Chernihiv National University of Technology (CNUT) is one of the leading higher educational establishments in the north of Ukraine. The university is accredited in full after the IV level of accreditation. It is included in the list of priority higher educational establishments, declared by Canadian Association of Engineers. CNUT is the first higher educational establishment in Chernihiv region that joined the Magna Charta Universitatum in 2013. The system of the quality management according to the international standard ISO 9001:2009 (ISO 9001:2008) has been introduced and certified at the University. It all began in 1960, when the General Technical Faculty was established in Chernihiv by Decree № 651 of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR, which was subordinated to Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. E.H. Kalyta, a competent authority of the higher school was appointed the Dean of the Faculty. In 1991 Chernihiv Branch of Kiev Polytechnic Institute became an independent institution of higher education Chernihiv Technological Institute. In 1999 Chernihiv Technological Institute was given the highest status educational qualification and became Chernihiv State Technological University. Since 2010 the University has been headed by S.M. Shkarlet, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honoured Worker of Science of Ukraine. On October 4, 2013 Chernihiv State Technological University was granted the status of "National" by Presidential Decree № 544/2013 and became Chernihiv National University of Technology. The long history of formation and development, traditions and powerful educational and scientific potential of the University indicate that Chernihiv National University of Technology has always been and will remain a worthy leader of higher education in Ukraine, an actual training centre of highly qualified specialists ready to devote their knowledge and strength to the development of our country.
