The Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) is a public foundation, part of the Indirect Federal Administration, linked to the Ministry of Education (MEC). The institution, still under the name of University of Uberlândia (UnU), was authorized to operate by Decree-Law n. 762, of August 14, 1969, and federalized by Law n. 6,532, of May 24, 1978. Develop teaching, research and extension in an integrated manner, carrying out the function of producing and disseminating science, technologies, innovations, cultures and the arts, and forming critical citizens committed to ethics, democracy and social transformation. With seven campuses - four in Uberlândia (MG), one in Ituiutaba (MG), one in Monte Carmelo (MG) and one in Patos de Minas (MG) - UFU is the main reference center in science and technology in a wide region of Central Brazil, which includes the Triângulo Mineiro, Alto Paranaíba, the northwest and parts of northern Minas, the south and southwest of Goiás, the north of São Paulo and the east of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso . The UFU enjoys didactic-scientific, administrative and financial and asset management autonomy, under the terms of the law. Its organization and operation are governed by federal legislation, by its Statute, General Regulations and complementary norms.
