FGV is an organization that looks to the world in search of the modern. We look for whatever could be useful and adaptable to Brazil’s growth, in order to make the nation fairer and more advanced. Therefore, based on its own reflections and demands brought about by globalization, FGV creates new paradigms for improving performance, and presents them almost immediately to its stakeholders, composed of executives, professionals and young students looking for knowledge. Our courses, programs and activities closely track the evolution of companies and their needs in terms of qualifications and professional specialization. Likewise, economics is fundamental in giving us a developed country. We will not be a great nation if we do not have a thriving economy, which is essential for strategic planning. We are also present in law, as we realized that it was necessary to innovate in this area and add to our interdisciplinary approach. The same applies to the fields of politics and history. If Fundação Getulio Vargas is a unique institution and a pioneer in many projects in the area of higher education and assistance for companies and public organizations, this is due to the inexhaustible source of talent composed of its leaders, professors, students and employees. The cradle of distinguished personalities such as ministers, presidents, directors and government officials, FGV has also evolved because of the efforts of its competent professors and passionate employees, who always deserve our recognition. We may therefore say that since it was founded, in 1944, this institution has not been limited to its physical facilities, buildings, objectives and programs. It is also worth emphasizing here the importance FGV places on maintaining its independence and plurality of points of view, which are among its key characteristics. However, the institution’s nonpartisanship does not stop it from advocating policies and ideals to help lead the country to progress and economic and social well-being.
