The International University of the American Tropics (Unitrópico) is a Colombian Institution of Higher Education (HEI) , based in Yopal , department of Casanare , of a public nature, said university faculty currently offers academic programs: postgraduate, professional, technological and technical. Unitrópico was initially created as a Mixed Participation Higher Education Institution [ 1 ]​ at the initiative of the Department of Casanare, with prior authorization from the Departmental Assembly, as stated in Ordinance 076 of the year 2000, [ 2 ]​ the act of constitution and /o foundation of the educational institution was signed on March 16, 2000, among its founders are people of public and private law; [ 3 ] Since then, it has been the main university faculty in Yopal and Casanare.
