The Institute of Cardiology - University Foundation of Cardiology (IC-FUC) was created in 1966 with the aim of developing teaching, improving medical care, encouraging studies and research and promoting the advancement of knowledge and medical care in cardiology. Today it is nationally and internationally recognized for its excellence, pioneering spirit and avant-garde in cardiology. He also administers and manages five other hospitals that form a complex and articulated network, of great assistance importance in the Rio Grande do Sul and national scene. All these factors, together with a highly specialized clinical staff, a multidisciplinary team and interdisciplinary care, make the Instituto de Cardiologia one of the largest cardiology centers in Brazil.
