The Jean Piaget University of Angola was created in 1999 with the creation of the Instituto Piaget de Angola Association – AIPA, as registered in the Diário da República, no. 14, Série III of 1 April 1999. AIPA is the promoter of the Jean Piaget University of Angola, also known as UniPiaget of Angola, which was legitimized under Executive Decree No. 44-A/01, of 6 July. UniPiaget is a private higher education institution, of an associative nature, which, aiming to comply with the general regulatory standards of the Higher Education Subsystem, has the mission of promoting the creation, transmission and dissemination of culture, knowledge, science and technology , through the articulation of study, teaching and scientific research.
