Lock Haven University was founded in 1870 as the Central State Normal School, and we have a long history of excellence in training Pennsylvania’s educators. We’ve expanded our academic programs, and while we still offer some of the best teacher preparation in the state, we also are among the best in the sciences, business, and humanities. We are proud of our graduates. Since 1870 Lock Haven University has graduated some of the most talented alumni in the world. We have over 32,000 alumni and LHU is represented in every state across the U.S. Once you attend LHU, a part of you never truly leaves.
