The National University of Cuyo was founded on March 21, 1939. Since its creation, its activity has been oriented towards clarifying the great human problems, with special reference to national and regional life. It was created to offer educational services in the Cuyo region, which includes the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis. UNCuyo is made up of 12 (twelve) faculties, all with headquarters in Mendoza. They offer undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses. It also has 3 (three) Institutes. The Balseiro Institute, which is located in Bariloche; It offers master's and graduate degrees in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Telecommunications. The University Technological Institute (ITU) has 6 (six) branches distributed throughout the province and offers higher-level technical courses and careers for the professionalization of company personnel. And, the Public Security Institute, based in Mendoza, provides degree training in Security and special courses to address the problem.
