On April 16, 1973, National Law No. 20,286 was promulgated, by which the National University of Misiones was created. It was part of a broader plan called the Taquini plan, the higher education reorganization program that would lead to the founding of the universities of Jujuy, La Pampa, Lomas de Zamora, Entre Ríos, Luján, Catamarca, Salta, San Juan, San Luis and Santiago del Estero. The creation of the UNAM was promoted from a resizing of the National University of the Northeast (UNNE). The National University of Misiones is a public university in Argentina. It has a publishing house and a radio station, LRH301 FM Universidad Nacional de Misiones, that streams in Ogg Vorbis format.
