PILEMA is committed to the teaching and training of security providers and consumers in the modern methods of detecting and preventing crime. PILEMA is now a licencee of the University of South Africa (UNISA). We have since 2009, been assigned the duty of marketing some of UNISA’s programmes, especially in Criminal Law. PILEMA will organise regular academic sessions for its intake of full time students on various aspects of crime prevention and detection. In the regular programme, PILEMA will run tertiary level courses in Police Practice, Forensic investigation, Security Management, Correctional Services Management. In addition, short term courses and workshops will be organised from time to time for those with special interest in preventing and detecting crime in their immediate work environment as well as in their personal lives. PILEMA’s mission is to provide, at the tertiary level, specialized and general education to those engaged in the provision of security services to Government, public and private organizations. The ultimate objective is to help develop in Africa a security industry capable of competing internationally.
