The University is a State owned conventional degree awarding institution that offers quality undergraduate programmes in a multiple of disciplines. The University was officially brought into being by signing into law, the instrument of its legal existence in May 2009, but commenced academic activities in October, 2013 (ie. 2013/2014) with the registration of 800 pioneer students, spread over three Faculties: Social Sciences, Science, and Education. The University is poised to satisfy society’s demand for knowledge through teaching and research; by upholding truth and social justice, by rendering selfless services, supported by the promotion and preservation of academic freedom and fundamental values of society. The University has began to reap the benefits derivable from linkages with other institutions.
