The State University of Northern Paraná - UENP was created by Law No. 15,300, of September 28, 2006, and authorized by State Decree No. 3909/2008, with headquarters in the city of Jacarezinho, State of Paraná, and campuses in the cities of Jacarezinho, Bandeirantes and Cornélio Procópio, bringing together the old institutions of higher education: Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Jacarezinho - FAFIJA, Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy of Jacarezinho - FAEFIJA, Faculty of Law of Norte Pioneiro - FUNDINOPI, Faculdades Luiz Meneghel Foundation - FFALM and Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Cornélio Procópio - FAFICOP. With multicampi organization, it is a geographically decentralized special regime state autarchy, and enjoys didactic-scientific, administrative and financial and asset management autonomy, governed by its statute, by its general regiment and by the resolutions of its councils , in compliance with federal and state laws. UENP's mission is to act in the production of scientific knowledge in its most diverse forms and in the process of regional development and of the State of Paraná, actively participating in the work of integral construction of society and its citizens, always seeking to improve the quality of life , promoting democracy, citizenship and socio-economic development, by valuing and socializing knowledge and knowledge historically constructed and constituted. 25 undergraduate courses are offered, in the most diverse areas of knowledge, several lato sensu postgraduate courses and three stricto sensu postgraduate courses: in Legal Science, Languages and Agronomy. Its bonds with society are visceral and its own creation depended on this partnership. For this reason, UENP intends not only to meet the demands of society and dialogue with it, but rather, to be an element of construction and transformation of the regional reality. By producing, discussing and disseminating knowledge, UENP will seek to contribute effectively to social transformations, as indicated in its Institutional Development Plan. UENP, born under the aegis of cooperative strength and the will of society, believes that this integration, based on ethical principles and reflections on social problems, is a catalyst for its definitive and committed institutionalization. The University is ready to face the challenges that will be presented to it. Even though the road ahead is long and the work hard, there is a lot of determination to achieve your goals. To overcome this historic moment, UENP, always guided by ethics and social commitment, will use as essential tools the establishment of priorities, planning, collective and responsible work and the constant evaluation of its results.
