The University of Belgrano was created by Doctor Avelino Porto on September 11, 1964 in accordance with Law 14,557. Its first building was located in Sucre and Cramer, in the "Pueblo de Belgrano". The university began its activities with ninety students and twenty-eight professors. Since the 1980s, the university has been a pioneer in internationalization, understanding that the international, intercultural and global dimension are part of higher education. The connection of the university with other universities in the world is verified through the high number of student exchange agreements, academic cooperation and double diploma. In 1992, the university tower was inaugurated to house the four founding faculties: the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism. Over time, postgraduate studies were added in the Faculties of Law and Economics, the School of Foreign Languages ​​and Studies, the School of Health Sciences, and the School of Exact and Natural Sciences. The cultural renewal that globalization brings introduces changes in the curriculum based on the need to enrich professional training and, for this purpose, the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Continuing Education is organized. The development of new information and communication technologies allow, through the Virtual Modality, the offer to expand to cities in the interior of the country, opening virtual classrooms in undergraduate and graduate courses. The curricular change affects all the study plans of the degree courses that make up a new matrix made up of core and elective subjects, language and computer evaluations, hours of professional social work and the completion and defense of a final dissertation. race. Likewise, shortening of most careers to 4 or 5 years duration occurs. This modification is consolidated with the passage to the four-month format for all subjects with the aim of facilitating international student exchange.
