Fruit of the spin-off of higher and university education institutions, carried out in 1993 by the Minister in charge Pascal NDUDI NDUDI, at its birth, the current University of Kamina was called the University Center of Kamina. In June 1997 its first Rector, Professor KIMPESA MBUYU MUJINGA, died in Kinshasa and in October of the same year, the University center was converted into the University center of Kamina Extension in Lubumbashi. Ten years later, on May 22, 2008, the former extension, eldest daughter of the University of Lubumbashi, was elevated to the rank of Autonomous Public Universities of the Democratic Republic of Congo under the name of the University of Kamina, UNIKAM, in acronym. Our main mission is to train the researchers in various scientific fields, to carry end research that can result in the development of different theories scientific innovation.
