The University of Souk – Ahras was created in 1998 as an annex of the Badji Mokhtar University of Annaba made up of three specialties namely - Legal and administrative sciences. - Management information technology. - Common core in exact computer science and technology. There has been a great boom since it was annexed with 270 students and 05 teachers including 03 from the University of Annaba. The administration of the center has worked with all the means at its disposal for the management and monitoring of the operations of the activities from which it has benefited as infrastructure equipment to put itself in the same tune from this achievement at the rank of major universities. - During the period from 2001 to 2010 the university center had 8000 new teaching places distributed as follows - 2000 teaching places between 2004 and 2005. - 1500 teaching places between 2006 and 2007. - 4500 teaching places between 2009 and 2010. These achievements have helped the center to put all the necessary means for the improvement of educational tasks. On 12/10/2011 His Excellency the President of the Republic Mr Abdelaziz Bouteflika officially announced to hoist the university center in an executive decree number 12-245 of 11 Rajeb 1433 ie June 04, 2012 establishing the university of souk ahras.
