University of Talca (UTALCA) is located in Talca, Maule, Chile. It is locally known as Universidad de Talca. The university was established in 1981. It is accredited by Consejo Superior de Educación, Chile. The University of Talca is a public, regional and complex institution that has a large area that houses faculties, technological and research centers; administrative and service units, combined in a proposal for urban development of its buildings and green areas. The academic activities are developed in its five campuses: three of them in the Maule region (Talca, Curicó and Linares), another two in the cities of Santa Cruz (Libertad Bernardo O'Higgins Region) and in Santiago (Metropolitan Region). . Throughout its 40 years of life, the house of studies has evolved from an eminently educational character to an institution of greater complexity, particularly in research, creation, innovation, postgraduate studies and links with the environment.
