University of the Andes (UANDES) is located in Santiago, Región Metropolitana, Chile. It is locally known as Universidad de los Andes. The university was established in 1989. It is accredited by Consejo Superior de Educación, Chile. The Universidad de los Andes was founded by a group of academics and professionals who, inspired by the teachings of Saint Josemaría, founder of Opus Dei, dared to start a new educational project, based on the cultivation of superior knowledge, the comprehensive education of students, the dissemination of knowledge to society and the vocation of permanence in time.
