Utena College was established in accordance with the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in 2000. August 30 by resolution no. 999 "On the approval of the procedure for the establishment of higher education institutions", 2000 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. August 30 by resolution no. 1000 "On the establishment of the state colleges of Alytus, Kaunas, Utena and Vilnius" and SMM 2000 September 1 by order no. 1093 "On the reorganization of Utena higher medical and business schools into Utena college". The academic departments of the college were founded on the basis of these higher schools: the Faculty of Health Care and Social Care (now Medicine) and the Faculty of Business and Technology. The first director of Utena College - Vida Stasiulionienė started her duties in 2000. September 1 Since 2007 August. Regina Šilinskienė was the temporary director of the college. Since 2008 March 18 Director of Utena College - prof. Dr. Gintautas Bužinskas. in 2018 October 5 Assoc. was elected as the head of the college by the decision of the Utena college council. Dr. Raimundas Čepukas.
