VERN' was founded in 1990, and VERN' Polytechnic began operating as a higher education institution under the name of the College of Entrepreneurship Economics with the right to the public in 2000, based on the permit and decision of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Croatia. As the first Croatian private business university, VERN began its academic existence with a professional study of Entrepreneurship Economics, which still today represents the backbone of VERN's undergraduate study programs and the business culture promoted by VERN's educational programs. In 1994, VERN' began conducting one-year professional educational programs with the appropriate permit for the then 5th level of education.
